'Everyone Draw Muhammed Day'

Salam Alaykum,

I don't really know who reads my Blog but I hope this will be seen by at least one person and will make them think a little...

Facebook members created a group/competition called 'Everyone Draw Muhammed Day' which was due to launch today. The main reason for this Blog post is to express my disbelief at these people, and in turn to the heads of FB for allowing this to continue after many of their members reporting this. The ridiculing of any faith is quite, well, disgusting. That's the simplest way of considering this issue. Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their freedom of speech/arts or whatever but it is the duty of EVERYONE who wishes to express this right to consider others around them.
Regardless of the current misconceptions on the religion of Islam, which I do not want to address at this point, this religion does not hinder the creativity of any individual and asks from people to consider their actions within the boundaries of their faith; this is something that everyone can learn from, regardless of faith, culture, age, gender etc.

This post may be useless, or it may influence one person to change their point of view. Similarly to the people who created this event, I am using my right to free speech and I am using this platform to exercise this right baring into mind the wide scope of people who will be able to access my thoughts and ideas. I just hope people consider the impact of creating such groups who aim to do nothing more than insight hatred and animosity rather than hide under the banner of freedom of speech.
