Salam, Aloha, Namaste, Ni Hao, Bonjour.. you get the idea. Welcome to my first Blog entry!
As per usual, I have created another account on another website at the time of exams. Seeing as I don't seem to get stressed during the exam period, I'm taking it that my body has a unique mechanism to control how I react to pressure. Either way, I hope 'Infinitesimal in Comparison' isn't just another phase that I'm going through.
I've chosen to post a poem which I wrote, again, when I was supposed to be doing something else and hopefully this questions your stance on which method is more powerful in creating a message- the Pen or the Sword? Innumerable amounts of authors, poets, philosophers etc. have weighed these oppositions and their effectiveness in spurring others in taking action and rethinking their ideals.. this is my take on the subject, obviously not as drastically life changing as my predecessors, but just something that I felt I needed to write.
My Pen is My Sword
My pen is my sword, fending for my right
The ambassador of my mind, the translator of my sighs
The interpreter of my thoughts, the medic to my heart
Its power eclipsing that of a flying arrow or the sharpest dart
The page is my battlefield, plains of freedom
Inviting the droplets of ink to ebb and draw out kingdoms
Stories of Prophets, Messengers, Leaders, Knights,
Princes, Kings on that page give birth and flight
The words dance with mirth amongst those lines
Cry in woe and desperation to speak out
Seeking truth, entertainment, jokes, lies
The Sword on the Battlefield: they make up your mind.
